Wear and Tear Disorders

Medical science has evolved so much that we can even witness more and more head transplants as we are experiencing the glimpse of early 2022, but…. There are some disorders and pathologies that re either called idiopathic or are thrown into an ending list called “Wear and Tear Disorders”.

The said list contains numerous diseases that are associated with age decline.

I had to choose this topic so that we can modify this catastrophe to an extent and pull out our skills as for as research and innovations are concerned.

1. Aortic Stenosis

a Volvuli Disease known as Aortic Stenosis leads to Syncope, Angina and Dyspnea (SAD) but for our purposes here we should dig deep into it and correlate its significance with age related “Wear and Tear Disorders”.

Most medical literatures and gigantic textbooks has describe this as “due to age related calcification in older patients >60 years old.

2. Osteoporosis

This wear and tear disorders has affected our beloved country the most, since it predominantly calls women as its “Setting Duck”

It’s described as Trabecular and cortical bone lose mass despite normal bone mineralization and lab values such as serum calcium.

Women are more prone to osteoporosis as the Peak bone mass declines a bit earlier in the said gender.

3. Neuropathological basis of “age-associated Brain Atrophy”

Ventricular volume trajectory in the brain is significantly associated with age, presence of infarcts, neurofibrillary tangle and neurotic plaque scores, APOE epsilon4 allele presence, and dementia diagnosis. Total brain volume trajectory is significantly associated with age and mild cognitive impairment diagnosis.

4. Hypertension

The most malignant wear and tear disorders which is described as age related arteriosclerosis. Life style modification may contribute to the delay of this specific phenomenon.

5. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

It’s a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland due to increased growth

An enlarged prostate can result incomplete or complete blockage of the bladder and interferes with a man’s ability to urinate properly.

As now we are familiar with these modifiable wear and disorders, young doctors have the responsibility to overtake and come up with some innovations and research work.
